Nikka Coffey Malt Whisky Distillery Bottling 70cl , 45% Vol
Distilled in a Coffey still normally used for grain whisky production, the malt is delightfully fruity and spicy.
Most distilleries only use for their Coffey stills for grain whisky, but Nikka has two Coffey still for distillation of malt at their Miyagikyo distillery. The Coffee Malt range was previously exclusively released as single casks, but fortunately they introduced this as a regular part of their line-up in 2014.

NOSE - Fresh and clean, with aromas of candied lemon peel and rich cake spices.
PALATE - Robust and spicy, quite a dense mouthfeel and richly textured, with cinnamon and clove on the palate, and citrus-tinged freshness to lighten the load.
FINISH - Harmonious blend of dense spices, rich oak, and lemon and orange notes. Delightful.
COMMENT - A fascinating experiment that more than passes the test. This is a delightfully fruity, spicy whisky with a refreshing aromatic zing.
